Only 24 days to go before we set off on our 2nd Annual 1965Ride to Queenstown.
We are extremely thankful to Mike and Brenda Sattary and Ryan Crosley who have agreed to drive the two Johannesburg support vehicles. This is such an important function and just last week we were one driver short, and a bit worried, so this has really taken a load off our minds! Neither Mike, Brenda or Ryan have direct links to Queen’s College, but when they heard that we needed help, they volunteered. Thanks guys!
We are now finalising last minute items, like kit sizes (thanks to Biogen and Cargo Motors for sponsoring kit), rooming lists and deposit payments from all cyclists.
We are organising a farewell function for the cyclists on Wednesday 11 April at 6pm at Rivonia Sports Club. Invitations to sponsors and cyclists will go out shortly, but everyone interested in our cause is welcome to attend.
A big thank you also to Erin Brunette-Finch and Dominik Viring, both biokineticists, who have volunteered to give us advice on race preparation in respect of stretching/looking after our bodies and nutrition/supplementation. Although we are not convinced that a diet of hamburgers, pancakes and coca-cola is all that bad – it managed to power us last year!
We set off at 7.30am on Thursday 12 April from the Heidelberg airfield. Anyone who would like to come and cheer us onwards is welcome.
Of course, it’s not too late for you to get involved (if you aren’t already involved), either by cycling with us, or sponsoring us. Just email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Roll on 12 April!!
